This is an interesting read metaphorically written on the ebb flow of metaphysics applied to the social paradigm. I always found it ironic that those who demand tolerance seem to be the most intolerant of others. Hopefully society will find a harmonic homeostasis before it self-destructs.

Hi Heather!

Too much time on tractor seats and saddles and not enough time in class rooms, conference halls and pews.

The old world seems to be peeling away and it will be interesting to see what grows up in its stead.

The pews are owned a d operated a d manufactured BY the bankster mahphueuh as mind controll propaganda brain warhsin to ever deeper divide the Spirit from the human. Best stay far away from all pews. They are poxon mixed with tinsel. GPS to the woods, the rivers and the sea and the animals.

Very true. We are going to hit the end of that chain at a dead run.

Very interesting and thought-provoking overview of our current state. Your discussion on time reminded me of another interesting take on time by Phillip Zimbardo, "The Time Paradox." The focus is different but nevertheless fascinating stuff.

I once knew a John Merryman some years ago. I think it must be a distance relative, perhaps.

Thank you. Given much of what I try writing involves digging deeper into the basic concepts of our reality, it does get a little repetitive, so I only post essays as the situations warrant.

currently I'm working on one that is aimed for the end of the summer, or at least September.

Here is the current draft; https://johnmerryman.substack.com/publish/post/135326630?r=7aidy&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

I don't get much feedback, as it seems most people don't want to dig too deep, as it would involve questions that might go against powerful cultural forces and beliefs. Yet it seems we are reaching a point where even the strongest forces are coming up short. So people will either have to probe deeper, or just give up thinking.

My wife once commented, walking through the church graveyard, that it would bug her if her name was on at least half a dozen of the graves. Family legend is it goes back to Robin Hood. The church is Sherwood Episcopal.

I guess I haven't been keeping track of substack. I've tended to focus my little bit of internet time on medium, but it is starting to get stale.

I tend to circle around some of the same basic ideas, since everyone else is focused on the details.

Here is similar;

Here is something that does go to one of my particular rants;

Christmas and Thanksgiving. I developed epilepsy at 29 and my interest in alcohol seriously faded after that.

There are a lot of angles to that. For one thing, firearms are a technology and like all technologies, actually everything, there are pluses and minuses. If there wasn't so much politics involved, I could see them regulated like cars. Though back in the day, we had BB guns by ten and minibikes by 11. I still have scars from both.

As for librarians, assuming they don't plan on going postal, I'd be sort of neutral. Fact is, libraries seem like one place that doesn't attract the random shooter. Though they should probably have silencers, as a matter of principle.

That link is taking its own good time to download. I'm out here in the boonies, with Hughesnet. There is fios on the road, but my driveway is long and I am cheap.

I tend to be more of the, "cracks are how the light gets in."

The box is made to be broken. Otherwise they will diagnose you as attention deficient and medicate you, until you go back in it.

The kids who grow up to be generalists are the ones interested in everything, then as they grow, come to see how all the different things fit together. It's the obsessive/compulsives who become the specialists.

Yet in the army, the generals are in charge, while the specialists are one rank above private. So when the specialists are in charge, it becomes this global Tower of Babel.
